Hi, I’m Megs!
Owner, farmer, herbalist, seed saver, mother and creator behind HeartBeet Gardens. HeartBeet Gardens is inspired by the three beating hearts of my home, the Kitchen, Apothecary, and Garden. In tending to these spaces, there is so much aliveness to be enjoyed– health and deliciousness synergize and influence all of my creations. My specific focus and interests include herbal medicine for babies, children and families, food as medicine, gut health and wellness, diverse heirloom seed saving, and the stories that plants, seeds, and foods carry.
I studied Ecology & Biology at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where I began my deep dive into the ecosystems of Southern Appalachia. Following my passion for plants, botany, and health, I completed the Holistic Herbalism program at The Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine in 2022, and spent the following two years apprenticing under Herbalist Rebecca Vann, creator of Aurum Apotheca. I have worked on vegetable and herb farms, and have spent much time experimenting and learning in the garden. All of these experiences and teachers along the way have shaped my business.

All of these small-batch, handcrafted products are made with the highest quality ingredients– I only make products that I believe in, that I have tried myself, and that I would want my daughter to consume. At the forefront of my business is the understanding that our health is directly and inextricably linked to the health of the Earth. That’s why every product is made with a simple ingredients list– always organic, local, and consciously sourced. We follow Earth’s natural rhythms to ensure fresh, potent medicines and rich, flavorful food products. Happy planet, happy bodies, happy spirits.
