The Mystery Seed Dispenser is a community project inspired by a vision of mine. I have always felt so strongly about what we as a society sell to children. What are we advertising to them, making them think they want or need? What are we fostering or inspiring in them? 

Instead of offering kids artificial candy and plastic toys that will break and end up in a landfill or the ocean, I want to help connect children with the earth and with growing their food in a fun way. I’ve learned as a mother that it’s not about what we’re doing but how we do it that can reach children. So born of this dream is the Mystery Seed Dispenser- a machine full of heirloom or native fruit, vegetable, herb, and flower seeds. 

While the machine takes a quarter, no child is turned away for lack of funds. I have offered countless free quarters to kiddos to experience the machine. This project isn’t about making money (in fact, we rely on community support and donations to keep this project afloat!)
